Huntsville School for Dogs
Most dogs aren't stubborn. Nobody ever explained it clearly.
Huntsville School For Dogs is run by Alex Alves: over twenty-five years of experience as a dog trainer specializing in canine behavior. Alex has trained hundreds of dogs from family companions to IGP national podium placers. We train family dogs to the same standard we take to a national trial field.

You already know what the problem looks like.
The leash that turns your walk into a fight. The bark that starts before the doorbell finishes. The recall that works in the kitchen and fails in the yard. Here is what almost nobody tells you: the dog is not defying you. The dog does not know, with certainty, what you are asking. Certainty is a skill. It is taught. That is what we do here.
Our Core Pillars
Connection
Every dog is unique and has its own way of wanting to interact with its people. The foundation of our program is finding how the dog wants to interact in order to communicate in a way that is meaningful.
Communication
Once a connection is established, then learning can begin. Through the dog's interaction preference, skills start to be taught and developed.
Clarity
With Connection and Communication established, clarity is brought to each training session. With a clear understanding of the criteria, the dog becomes reliable in performing the skills it has learned.
Every dog starts with an evaluation.
Handing your dog to a stranger for three weeks is the hardest part. Every board-and-train family receives a Field Report: written notes on exactly what we worked, video of the actual session, and an honest assessment. No mystery. A record.
